Kappas in RAMSland

On Tuesday February 15th, Mizzou Kappa Kappa Gamma competed in the preliminary competition for RAMS Rock-It. RAMS Rock-It is a lip sync and dance competition in which various members of the Greek community participate. The proceeds from this competition benefit Multiple Sclerosis Institute. Anxiously awaiting the results after Tuesday nights performance, Kappa was informed that they were one of the finalists for the lip sync competition. In addition to Rock-It, RAMS consists of competitions such as, t-shirt sales, Cup Night sales, Jail 'n Bail, comedy night and various other events. With the help of our Head Liaison, Ashley Logan, Kappa stayed organized and very well-informed of all the upcoming RAMS events. Kappa's dove head first into this competition in order to benefit a greater cause.

Kappa's theme for Rock-It this year was Kappa's in RAMSland, which was a play off of Alice in Wonderland. This skit and dance was choreographed by Meg Sterchi and Taylor Matichak. It featured characters such as, Alice, the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, The Queen of Hearts, and the Cheshire Cat.

A lot of time went into creating the costume and doing the makeup for the cast of Kappa's in RAMSland. Sara K. was a huge help in designing the costumes as well as, providing the ideas for bright, funky makeup.

Natalie G. stole the show as the leading lady, Alice. Natalie did an ideal job of portraying the role of a young girl who enters the magical world of Wonderland. Natalie even had a dress that was a replica to Alice's actual dress.

Molly G. did a fantastic job lip syncing her part during Rock-It. Molly wore a colorful feather boa in order to mimic the role of the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. Lip syncing was a huge part of the competition and the lip syncers did a lot to prepare for their big debuts.

Right before the show, the cast of Kappas in RAMSland gather in the foyer to take a group photo. The cast worked hard for over two weeks in order to prepare and perfect the routine. Through their hard work, Kappa Kappa Gamma placed third in the Rock-It competition.
