What has been your most rewarding part of your college experience thus far?
Meeting people from all different backgrounds, and learning how truly unique everyone is.
What are you TOP THREE favorite things about Kappa Kappa Gamma?
1. Seeing Cheesy Chicken and Rice on the dinner sheet. SO. GOOD.
2. New Door Codes, even though I can never remember them.
3. Our philanthropy, and how hard everyone works for it.
Describe yourself in three words. Why did you choose these words?
Spontaneous- I love spur of the moment adventures.
Unorganized- you should see my room...
Thoughtful- I always try to put others first, I like to make other people's day.
What is a goal that you would like to achieve for this school year?
I apply for the Child Life program next week, so getting accepted is my biggest goal for the year.
You were awarded the RAMS Community Service Award due to your involvement on campus as well as founding Miss Carol's Brunch for the Homeless. What inspired you to become so involved within the community? Who is the biggest inspiration in your life?
Winning the RAMS Service Award was great, and a huge honor. (even though i was mortified standing on stage, I was literally shaking in my boots!) I still can't believe they picked me, so many people on our campus do great things every day. I love being involved, and always being busy.
A wise woman once said, "Do the right thing, because it's the right thing to do." Her name was Carol, and she's my inspiration everyday.
How to plan to continue being involved throughout the community?
I'm currently planning lots of events on our campus for TOMS Shoes, and I coach youth lacrosse in Columbia. I also hope to get more involved with Ella's Hope, and work with kids who have autism or other special needs.
Any advice to underclassmen as to how they can become more involved?
Find something you are really passionate about, and then the rest is easy.
