Word around campus that a major snowstorm was going
to occur started spreading early Monday morning. Kappa was abuzz with the prospect of having a potential snow day. On Monday afternoon at 3:00 pm, Chancellor Brady Deaton sent out word that there would in fact be a snow day for Tuesday, February 1st. Starting early Tuesday morning, the snow began to fall and hasn't stopped since. Earlier Tuesday afternoon, campus received notification that there would be ANOTHER snow day for Wednesday, February 2nd. Kappa's at Mizzou decided to take the initiative to experience this historical MU event first hand and walked about campus in 16 inch snow fall.
Take a look at these Kappa's at some major Mizzou Landmarks...
Brianne H. and Colleen H. ventured to the Collumns in the snow in order to capture what many people proclaimed as "history".
At one point, visibility was so low that you could hardly see in front of you. As shown above, Tiger Plaza was completely covered in freshly fallen snow.
Brianne H., Anne K. and Colleen H. all stop to take a photo outside of Kappa. Many of the girls were going a little stir-crazy cooped up in Kappa for 3 days so, an adventure in the snow was much needed for many.
Colleen H. and Christy B. stop outside of our lovely home. The girls had to wear multiple layers because, it was so cold outside. Overall, there was an accumulation of over 18 inches of snow.
