Over the weekend, a Kappa team participated in Mizzou’s
Relay For Life event at Stankowski Field. Relay For Life is an annual campus campaign
that raises money for the American Cancer Society through fundraising and
donations. Our team camped out overnight from 6 p.m. on Saturday to 6 a.m. on
Sunday morning, all while taking turns walking on the track to raise money and
awareness. With just fifteen women on our team, we raised $3,714.88 for an
amazing cause, coming in second place behind the Steering Committee. This year,
the theme was St. Patrick’s Day and our team sold “Kiss Me I’m a Kappa” shirts
to raise an extra $50 at the event. Our participants have all been touched by
cancer some way, making this special event very close to our hearts. We
surpassed our goal of $1,000, thanks to our great participants and supportive donators.
Congratulations to our amazing team!
