So far this school year, Theta Chapter at Mizzou has had a lot of exciting things come our way. Aside from an amazing newly elected Chapter Council, Kappa Kappa Gamma was named to the Most Notable Properties list by the City of Columbia's Historic Preservation Commission! Kappa was built in 1929, making it one of the oldest sorority houses on the Mizzou campus! Members of Kappa were invited to a gala event put on by the City of Columbia to honor our Chapter and beautiful home.
Also in February, Kappa participated in Rockin' Against Multiple Sclerosis, also known as RAMS. RAMS is an organization made up of students that help raise money for people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. Many sororities and fraternities, amongst other students participate in RAMS. While there are many little events throughout the month of February, the main event put on by the RAMS Steering Committee is called "Rock It". "Rock It" is a fun and energetic dance and lip syncing competition. This year, our theme was "Kray in Love", channeling everyone's favorite power couple, Beyonce and Jay Z!

As with any other year, the much anticipated event of February was Kappa's annual Prohibition social! This year, Prohibition took place on February 25th at the Upper Crust in downtown Columbia. Girls and guys alike dressed up as gangsters and flappers to really make it feel like the 1920s again!

The weekend after Prohibition was Kappa Mom's Weekend! As you can tell, we have been very busy around here! Moms traveled in from all over the country to spend time with their daughters. Friday night started out with a Boutique night at the Kappa house! Vendors such as Silpada, Stella & Dot, and Lilly Dawson were there to show off their merchandise to the girls and their mothers! After this, Kappa was invited to participate in Karaoke night at Fieldhouse in downtown Columbia with our future Greek Week partners, Phi Kappa Theta. On Saturday, many girls spent the day relaxing with their moms, going shopping, and getting their nails done! Saturday night was Comedy Night at Deja Vu. We heard the jokes from the hilarious Greg Warren, who happened to be a Mizzou alum! Winding down the weekend, brunch was served at Kappa on Sunday morning. It was such a nice weekend enjoyed with the ladies we love and adore!
