Sister Sorority Event

Wednesday, April 24th, the women of Kappa and Alpha Phi joined together to create headbands for Desire to Aspire, a mentoring program for young girls. During this sister sorority event, our women got to know each other while creating an adorable craft and goodie bag for underprivileged and minority girls. Both sororities had a blast and we can't wait for more events to come!

Signature Event

Last Friday, a group of Kappas traveled to a local elementary school to read Dr. Seuss stories to a couple second grade classes. After the reading, we made hats with the children that looked just like what the Cat in the Hat would wear! Each child also received a package including two books and a bookmark. The books were donated by each Kappa. One of Kappa Kappa Gamma's beneficiaries is RIF (Reading Is Fundamental). This organization aims to create a literate America and make sure all children have access to books. It was a fun-filled and rewarding afternoon with the "tiny humans," as we fondly call them. Kelsey H. planned a great event that both the children and Kappas enjoyed. We can't wait until next year to make a difference, one book at a time!

BYX Volleyball Tournament

On Saturday afternoon, two teams of Kappas participated in BYX’s volleyball tournament. The afternoon was filled with food, friends, and fun. Games were played against other sororities as well as against one another. Overall the two teams placed 2nd and 3rd in the tournament. Additionally, Kappa will be receiving prize money from the tournament to put towards our philanthropy. Thanks to all the girls who played and thank you to BYX for hosting such a fun event! We hope there are many more games to come!

We're hitched!

Last night's marriage party with the men of Lambda Chi Alpha and Sigma Pi was a success! The theme for this social was "I'm Glad I'm Not..." and costumes ranged from Toddlers in Tiaras to "bros." We had a great time with our partners for Greek Week this year, and we're so excited to win it all again!

These city girls are glad they're not farm girls!
